This film demonstrates the delicate balance between ice, water and life, a relationship which was the subject of scientific missions and discoveries for many centuries. It includes captivating scenes, where satellite images were used, but also elements from the soil of Antarctica. The camera, "cutting through" the ice coverage, reveals the substrata of the area and then leads us into flights over Antarctica, Ross Sea and Mount Erebus. During this course we examine the ecosystems of the area and their survival, which is closely linked to our own.
